Method

  1. Grease a 2 pint (1.1 litre) pudding basin.
  2. Sieve together the flour and salt, then add the shredded suet, sugar and dried fruit. Mix with enough water to make a firm dough.
  3. Cover securely and steam for 2 hours.
  4. Turn the pudding out onto a hot dish and serve with custard.
