Nutty Chocolate Flapjacks

Aine says that she has been making this recipe since she was 5! Its easy, fun and simply delicious.

Ingredients

  • 150g/5oz margarine
  • 2 tbsp golden syrup
  • 100g/3½oz Shamrock Chopped Mixed Nuts
  • 75g/3oz Odlums Cream Plain Flour
  • 150g/5oz Odlums Porridge Oatflakes
  • 50g/2oz caster sugar
  • 50g/2oz light brown sugar
  • Nutella spread

Method

  1. Put the sugars, margarine and golden syrup into a large saucepan.
  2. Heat, stirring occasionally, until bubbling.
  3. Remove from the heat and add the flour and the oatflakes.
  4. Stir until all ingredients are moistened.
  5. Stir in the chopped nuts.
  6. Transfer to a greased Swiss Roll Tin 10” x 7”/25cm x 18cm and gently spread out evenly.
  7. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180°C/350°F/Gas 4 for 15-20 minutes or until mixture is golden brown.
  8. Cool in tin, then spread Nutella on top and cut into fingers or squares.
