Chocolate Walnut Brownies

A perfect treat anytime of the day, these tasty nutty chocolate brownies are sure to go down a treat.

Ingredients

  • 150g Shamrock Chopped Walnuts
  • 175g/6oz Odlums Cream Plain Flour
  • 225g/8oz butter
  • 175g/6oz plain chocolate (chopped)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 225g/8oz sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 170°/325°F/Gas 3. Lightly grease swiss roll tin 28cms x 18cms/ 11” x 7” .
  2. Melt butter and chocolate in saucepan over low heat, stirring until chocolate mixture is smooth. Allow to cool.
  3. Using electric mixer, beat eggs and sugar in large bowl until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in chocolate mixture and vanilla. Add flour and beat until blended.
  5. Pour batter into prepared tin, smoothing top. Sprinkle top with walnuts. Bake for 35 minutes until tester inserted into center comes out with crumbs attached.
  6. Transfer tin to rack and allow to cool.
